Default Summit Lake (BC) in the CNP

Has anyone fished Summit this year?

Thinking of heading out there tomorrow. Any info appreciated!

From a reliable source it winter killed , not sure if it was a total wipeout. The lake was re-stocked though

Default summit

It has been re -stocked, after winterkill, but there have been some reports of
a few larger fish in the 18" size, so a few may have survived.

Fished it this year. Yes it did winter kill. Lots of fish carcasses on the shoreline - it stinks bad (although not so bad once you're out on the water). It's definitely not what it used to be. Spent a weekend on the water and only caught one sizeable fish... I guess a few of the old guys survived. The new stock are ok to catch, but the excitement of that lake used to be the larger fish. Too bad.

Are you talking about Summit by Parson? I know it winter killed. It was a very productive brook trout lake. Loved to fish there. Rick.

Susan from the crownest cafe posted on the fly fish calgary forum that it was restocked and it didn't completely winter kill. I guess it is fishing pretty good this year considering the amount of dead fish around the shorelines.
