Default What kind of bug is this?

Wood borer of some kind ill guess, iridescent wood borer. Pic is a little fizzy.

It's a long-horn beetle in the family Cerambycidae.

The larvae likely burrows into wood or under bark.

Pic is poor otherwise I could give you more specifics.

Thanks guys, my son keeps finding these little bug in his room every so often but we can't figure out were they come from.

Looks like a Poplar Borer… Pretty common in alberta.

I'd be interested to know how they are in the house? Do you have any poplar tree's on your property?

Home made or custom made furniture can be a source, otherwise they are likely coming from outside.

We were getting something like it from the coconut husk type of bedding we used for a while. From an empty tank to half a dozen critters simply from opening the package and getting it wet.

Lots of beetles and flies squeeze their way into your house every fall looking to survive the winter.

In my last house it was ladybugs. Literally hundreds and hundreds of them in around my windows and in the attic.

The new house seems to have an abundance of Box Elder beetles.

Pretty common.
