Default First geese of the season

Went home for lunch today to find 10 geese in the backyard standing on top of the ice. Seems a little earlier than this time last year ??A week earlier. Hope this is good signs that winter, snow , cold is behind us, then again this is Alberta Half cup full

Saw two geese in the field by my house in the morning today. They seemed confused. Starlings are singing in the trees as well! I bet the bears are starting to toss and turn in their dens.

Saw 100's of them south of Claresholm in the ponds, along with a few small flocks of ducks and also about 20 swans.

Saw 2 flying over the house today. Flying low.
Heard their wings before I saw them.
Otherwise not a noise from them.

Of course I let out an "boom" and in my mind watched one fall to the ground.
Yes, I am that good

The first seagulls should be in the Wendy's parking lot shortly.

Default 3 have made it so far!

They are standing on the ice and checking things out. It won't be long.

Still that is down that way & not up this way. I usually see them by the 15th of this month but nothing yet.

This is great news, very glad to read that folks are seeing some Birds!!!

Unfortunately I have yet to see even a single Goose OR Duck thus far in 2014 myself... That said I am looking forward to my first sighting of the year!

Can't tell what are migrators around here with so many year round residents, but, there is open pond water now. Pond at the dog park broke yesterday. There is hope, spring appears to be happening, at least for a day or two or three.
