Just maybe visible minorities make up a greater population of those incarcerated from criminal events because they committed crime and they were found guilty.
Judges are appointed, are we appointing racist judges or are they just doing their jobs by incarcerating those that commit crime?
Want to be tough on crime, yet allow the colour of one's skin determine their sentencing??? Now that's a liberal institution if I ever read one.

Being soft on criminals will definitely win votes from criminals, those who want government handouts, and bleeding heart liberals. The conservatives have to depend on the economy getting so bad, that people start losing their homes, and can't afford the basics, like food and shelter. Even the bleeding heart liberals will not vote for Trudeau, if it means that they will have to endure personal hardship.

when you keep on listening to them go around and around they want the same outcome but make the other seem inadequate in doing so.
It politics, lies and more lies stacked up to sound truthful, no more no less and if you listen to only what you want to hear which we all do to a certain extent you make your mind up accordingly.

If winning votes is the goal, then yes, they have the same goal, but they are in no way saying the same thing to get those votes. In fact, they are using opposite approaches.

They are putting their own spin on criminals and how to deal with them.
Hitting it from different angles to get a one up on each other.
At the end they want harsher penalties for criminals just their way is the only way as seen through their parties eyes and the other is failing or would fail.
