Buddy is out on Slave this weekend north of Kinuso. Big ice ridge going east west. They got on with an argo but suggested a quad would be out of luck. Now if I only had an argo.

2 cars on the Ice Saturday at Ghost. 13" still. I think it's still good policy to stay clear of the pressure ridge near the boat launch if you venture out with your vehicle.

South end of Lake Newell was 11-12" on Sat. Jan. 7/12 and appeared to be holding up quite well in spite of the wind and warm temps.

Was out at Pigeon On the weekend. We drove on at Johnsonia (northwest side) and there was 18" of ice at least. There were several other trucks on the ice or driving around. There were also trucks on the ice at Mulhurst. We didnt see any fish, but I think we got on to the ice a little to late. 1100 - 1pm. Weather was incredible and it was just nice to be out there. My daughter even put her skates to skate for a while.

Let you know tomorrow when I get back. might just end up on Jackfish, and fish around the dam, wont be walking too far in the cold. Hoping it gets lots of ice, in time for the derby, it would be nice to be able to drive on.

there was a picture in the Brooks paper of the ice shack that went through the ice a week ago, all you can see is the roof, thats why I dont think it would be all that great to drive on yet, with only a week of cold days. now we are supposed to get above zero temps for a week, including plus 11 on Wednesday, I think driving on will be pushing peoples luck for a while yet. I know last winter someone drove on one of the local lakes with 12 inches of ice, and ended up on the bottom because it wasnt 12 all over. personally Im going to play it safe for a long time yet and get my exercise walking out.

Lac La Nonne
I was out at Lac La Nonne last Sunday. There was 18 inches of solid black ice. I drove across the lake in my F-150 with my buddy in his minivan behind me. After a week of -30 im sure there is more ice now.

There is a solid 19 inches at pigeon today, but also a about a 3 or 4 foot ice heave at the Provincial campground boat launch, that is impassible
