What's the gun or cartridge you "never" will have
I've got a variety of rifles and shotguns , but , the "30-06" bothers me to the point of being so successful that I can't buy one , LOL ...I would rather avoid the 30-06 with the 270 , 308 , 7rm and many others than give in ... Do you have a rifle or cartridge that just doesn't do it ... I also love Kimber but , No ...

It's a .284; and when you pull the trigger, the animal falls over. Give it a try, you'll never go back. I have taken 36 big game animals with mine from antelope to moose. Cheers!

I love them all,not all the makers off firearms ,I have bought and traded to where I lost count over 45 years of buying and selling.I love recoil it makes me know there things happening and being able to shoot them well with it is a must.
I avoided the 300wsm since it came out and 3 years ago fell in love with,so an other I avoided was a 338 Lapua and I am slowly maken a list on how to get that gun made up,lotsa good stuff and choices, gotta do it won't be long and at 70 maybe to much gun but plan on guiding for hunting and fishing till I can't move, then it will be late to enjoy what I never tried.
Right now I am hurt bad from a car accident and not my fault and lucky to be alive,so after 18 months layed up now I look forward in getting better and try some more guns out and hitting the bush hard.

Not sure where so much .270 hate comes from? It shoots about as flat as most magnums, hits hard enough to kill a moose, and has very tolerable recoil. I guess I sort of have trouble wrapping my hear around which part of that is so undesirable? Ditto on the 30-06.
Personally I don't even care about the cartridge, as I don't feel it much matters. Give me a gun that doesnt weigh too much, isn't too long, and isn't over scoped... in practically anything bigger than .243, and I'll happily hunt anything you want. Though if its a .300 mag I might wear a bag over my head until I get far enough into the bush than nobody can see me
If I have one bias its against Tikka's, all my formative shooting years were spent with Mauser based rifles, and as a result, to me, Tikka's just feel like toys. I could probably learn to tolerate them if they cost less, but no way am I spending that kind of money on them. I've had plenty of cheap rifles that shot good, and that's just what they were... their accuracy alone didn't make them worth $900.

.22WMR.....too big for rabbits and grouse, too small for yotes beyond 100y,4x more $ to shot then .22lr....I just cant justify any niche it fills or anything it does better then any .22 rimfire or centerfire?
.410 is another that I just can't get behind.Had one briefly, have hunted a bit with a cpl others...lots of poor results in my experience.
Never thought I'd ever buy a .243 neither.as I've always thought of it as a bit heavy for yotes and a bit light for my liking for bigger game.....but I bought one for my 13yo son's first rifle last fall and am now "intrigued" with it I guess you could say?Might also have a bit to do with my NB upbringing, with caliber restriction of <.23 for 10 months of the year.....pretty much useless as a coyote rifle and not my first choice nor even top 10 for deer/moose.........243s are unicorns in NB.

.270win and 30-30 absolutely no reason why, except everyone else has one.

I don't think I'll ever own a 30/30. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but it doesn't appeal to me as a bush cartridge or for anything else.

.303, just because Cat likes it enough for six of us so why bother? Also don't see much reason to have anything bigger than a .300 WM, though I did have a .416 Rigby for a while....I don't have anything against the .375 H&H, or all the other great big bores....just don't see a need for one.

338 Lapua
I would never own one of these or a cannon. Seriously though just to expensive to shoot and waaaaay to much recoil.
EDIT:
I might own one if things stay this bloody cold and and Wooly Mammoths make a comeback.

Any magnum or weatherby cartridge. I like efficient cartridge's, and just have never given the weatherby's a chance, but don't feel like starting g now.

Only the 270wby has my look.
having had enough of the 30-06 and variants they don't appeal to me..
Most hyphen cartridges either...30-30, 25-20, 45-70, 250-3000 and even the the monster 30-378 and 33-378. But the 6.5-300wby is cool....so in the end I really don't know after all...

I doubt I'll ever own anything over a 338WM. No real point for my big game hunting/shooting needs. I guess if I wanted to chop trees with one or something maybe?

As for calibers of rifles I would never own, the .270 Win and the .243 Win are 2 calibers I have never had any desire to own. I have shot them both in rifles other people owned but I just could never bring myself to buy one even though I have been offered good deals on them both at some point over the years.
As for Brands I would never own, with the exception of a 99C model any rifle or shotgun with the name Savage on it and probably I will never buy a Mossberg.

Never will own another winchester model 1300. Piece of @#$%!. Oh yah and anything savage or mosberg. Couldn't see myself spend good money on one. Just my 2 cents. As per cartridge the wsm line or the saum line up seem like nothing but a sales gimic.

I don't get the 308 or its whole dang family. The 30-06 and its family is bigger faster and hits harder at every level.

With the exception of another model 99, never a savage for me.
Or a wsm chambering, they just seem like a gimmick to me with no real improvements over what is already out there.
Also synthetic (plastic) stocks and cheap parkerized finishes grind my gears, I won't own that either.
To each their own

Will never have another 338 RUM or a Mossberg. Once was enough for both.
