He is on lesser slave lake, never been there but im planning a trip for the last weekend of Jan.

Nestor, I know its much norther (????) than you were wondering about, but honestly you cannot beat the fishing on ice on Lesser Slave - it can be fantastic!
It could be worth your trip.....

But yes, it is a long ways from Innisfail.
