Default Mission to build a perfect planer board

I have used both large dual planer boards and the small single planer boards but really wanted something mid sized - like 12"-14" that could quickly and easily be taken down or folded and stored in the boat when not in use.

So .... I had the millwright fabricate some braces out of aluminium (light and corrosion resistant) and I cut some ski's out of cedar put a 45 degree angle on the tip and cut the runner at 30 degrees to have it plane up.

The fasteners are 1/4" stainless bolts and nuts ( I would have used a wing nut but couldn't find one in stainless) so they are quick and easy to assemble or take down.

Here's the results ...... what do you think?

These larger photos are a little easier to see ...... and yeah I could have chased and cleaned up the holes a little and done a better paint job - but come on .... I'm an office jockey.

Cost ended up under $10 each or $ 20 bucks for a set (starboard and port).

Hard to tell in the photo the span is 12" and the set back on the inboard is roughly 5" on the ski.
