Default Leach traps

Has one had much luck with leach traps, have been looking to try it out!
Have a couple dirty creeks running through my property and I know there's some in there!
What's your best method? I've got some coffee tin traps made already.

I had a lot of bad luck until I discovered (a) a decent DIY trap and (b) a pond with leeches. Tried pie plates and tin cans with no appreciable luck. Same as shallow ponds

This year I have great success with one gallon plastic food grade containers with a plastic threaded lid of the type that you frequently see in a bar - full of pickled eggs - those would be glass and no good to you. I thread a sturdy cord about 4m long thru' the lid and put a flat rock and a slice of frozen liver or other bloody meat incl. frozen moose burger inside. The lower portion of the bottle has fifty (or 40 or 30) 1/8 inch holes and the top of the container near the shoulder four or five 1/2 inch holes. This is suspended vertically and sitting in the mud at about 10 f.o.w. (my pond has a convenient bridge across it)

Now the hard part. Soak the traps from 8:00 P.M. until 4:00 A.M. After 4 the big buggers are making for the exits. Pull the traps up; the water drains out via the little holes. Keep the bigger ones and set the little guys free to grow. good luck

Default Leeches

Clean new paint can, punch lots of small holes all around with 4" nail, put a large fist size rock and a slice of liver in it, put cover back on. Attach a 20' rope to the bale and toss her in a slough.
Tomorrow morning you have lots of Ribbon ? leeches stuck on the outside.
