Default Stocked trout lake update

FYI

Sibbald Meadows pond: 90% ice, saw no sign of fish but hopefully it did not winterkill (don't think it does normally)

Winchell lake:no sign of fish, 4 people fishing for a few hours, some in belly boats. They said that they had caught fish there last year before it was stocked (30-35 cm fish) and that is what I had heard from local guys on the lake last spring before it was stocked. My hypothesis is that there must be pockets of water infiltrating the lake and adding oxygen to small areas of the lake as the over winter survival seems to be low. I doubt there was much survival this year but I have heard many people on this forum discuss catching overwintered rainbows in there.

Sibbald lake: low water and no sign of fish.

Dogpound creek: was a little high put relatively clear water. Got one small brown. Did not fish that hard, wife and kids were getting impatient hanging out in the truck.

Burned a little too much gas today but "c'est la vie!"
Changing to the pike and walleye scene next week at Kinbrook. That park is sooo family friendly!
