Default Sylvan Lake

We're heading to Sylvan next weekend. Staying at Jarvis Bay. I've never really fished it before. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Pike or Walleye.

im gonna be fishing there too next weekend.
theres pike and not too many walleye.
for the pike im gonna gonna be using a float and a duel trble with a big smelt.
too many weeds to get around.
except by the highway area.
the water is realy clear on the south side and gets mudder to the weedy bay/marina by jarvis.
if you see something skittering around the surface throw a larger lure.
the walleye or pike are probibly scaring the baitfish into the shallows to feed on.

Hey FishHunter, Why is that section of the lake closed? I know it's in the regs, wondering why it's in the regs. Is it for safety reasons because of all the boats in the summer or for another reason?

not for safety reasons but for the spawning of walleye taking place at the 2 marinas.
because i dont know if you know this but marina bay gets pounded hard on may long weekend and it disrupts the walleye spawning there. we got some good sizes of eyes in that lake now.
about 1/2lb to around 10lbs with lots of 3lbs.
