Few burbs good sized, pike action has been slow and the big ones haven't been biting yet. early morning is best for pike, and evening till dark for the burbs. pink or green smelts work best, bring both, one day they like green another they like pink. good luck.

Was on it yesterday had a doz fish on the line but only landed a few. My partner had a HOG of a fish checking out his bait but could not seem to trick it in to biting. Lots of ice so safe to drive on. Its location is straight east of Stavley. Right of the highway on the right hand side.

Whats all in this lake? Is it the typical southern alberta reservoir fish. Pike, whitefish, perch and the occasional walleye?

I should probably give it a try.

No perch, walleye, whitefish or trout. Beats the heck out of me what the big pike eat in there besides each other.....

Barry Mitchell puts out a great Alberta fishing book every year with all kinds of information on the lakes and rivers in Alberta and what is in them. He dosnt do the regs so you still need a reg book. One of the best and informative magazines Ive ever seen here in Alberta.

There is also the trout in there but its on the north side, also there is a whites and the odd odd walleye. I fished there and a guy saw it on his fish cam and he tried to entice it o eat his jig but it didnt. Also there are burbs i caught some during summer time and man they are huge! They averaged about 75-85 cm ill see if i can find the pic to post.

If any are interested, was out at clear and the algae was so bad that you couldn’t see the bottom OS the motor when unloading. Caution as the loading dock is extremely slippery too.
Fishing was uneventful, likely because of them being lethargic with that much algae in the water.
