A 2 inch long len thompson spoon. Five of diamonds or a red devil. Or maybe a 2 inch countdown rapala. Silver or gold.
One time when canoeing I put tossed some orange peel in the water and the goldeye were smacking the peels. I put on a piece of peel on a size 8 snelled hook and caught goldeye all day. No weights or anything but the hook and peel tossed on the surface.
