Hypothetical:
It's June 20th. The very west portion of LSL is now open to angling; the Grouard channel, the portion of the lake west of Shaw's and Little Grassy, Buffalo Bay. Correct?
And because this west portion is a well known spawning area, the regs essentially imply(??) that the lake is divided into 2 chunks. That small western chunk and then what the regs call "the remainder of the lake".
Ok, so the chart in the regs clearly state that you may keep 1 walleye over 43cm from the western chunk of the lake on June 16th to Oct. 31.
That chart also clearly states that you may keep 1 fish over 43cm from the remainder of the lake and outlet from May 15th to Oct.31.
So....
Are you allowed a total of 2 walleye from LSL then, after June 15th? As long as you catch 1 fish in the "western portion" and then move the boat and catch another one from the "remainder of the lake"??
Or...are you only allowed 1 fish in total, no matter where you catch it? How would a Fish and Wildlife officer know where you caught your fish?
It must a total of one walleye, correct? No matter where you caught it? The reg is simply designed to lengthen the protection of the western chunk to avoid those spawners from being hammered, yes?
Either the regs are confusing...or I am reading WAAAAY too much into this!!
