My truck won't start. lol
I went out to start my truck this evening. I had it plugged in... always do when it's cold out. It rolls over but is sputtering really bad then dies. It does this several times in a row. No white smoke. Engine oil is ok and smells fine. It just keeps spuddering then dying.
Any ideas?
Does anyone know how to get the error codes?
Thanks a million,
Joe

Would it be a bad idea to spray some quick-fire in the intake to see if that would help start it?

check for a oil leak .
hi, Check for a motor oil leak at the back of the motor. intake under turbo. the motor oil will end up at the torque convertor area, outside of transmission.

6.4 Powerstroke is 2008 or newer. Do you have too many km's on it (past 160,000)that it is off warranty? If not road side assistance should pay the tow bill.

Did you drain your water seperator under frame rail, could have got a bunch of moisture in your tank and lines since it warmed up here. Just a thaught

Sounds like fuel problems
water in the tank or bad gas from somewhere. That happens to people when they park they vehicles in their garages over night. Did you change both fuel filters?

I hope you called Road Side assistance and not the tow truck.
I made that mistake this fall when the guy at 4-Lane Ford in Innisfail gave me the telephone number because it would be "easier to explain" where the house was. He failed to tell me that little bit of advice made it so I got a $75 reimbursement instead of the $260 tow bill covered from Roadside.
No help from them on that one
And to the jackazz that answered the phone when I called to try and work it out . You flat out lied to me you arse. I gave you my VIN....all the information on my vehicle comes up. Warranty Gold....whatever it says. Maybe I didn't tell you it was under warranty (but I did), any idiot that can read could see that it said this on the screen. Checked that out at a real Ford Dealer when I got home you sleazballs.
You idiots lost yourself a client that likes Fords and is planning on living in your area one day.
4-Lane Ford puts the fail in InnisFAIL
Sorry.....kinda lost it there for a bit,

I think all ford dealers are the same, i had a belt tensioner that was bout to blow, had a bad wobble, took it to ford, 71,000 km. Called me later told me it was all fixed, $750 dollars. I said why so much, and they said they changed both tensioners and belts. Then i asked if it was under warrenty, they said they never even checked to see if it was. How many ppl do they sucker like that in a year. ps ford in whitecourt total crooks

Kingland Ford up here is good....no issues. That has been the only "major" thing that's ever gone wrong with my truck (06 F350). The ac bearing siezed....went to fire it up one morning and it started to smoke/glowing red so I shut it off, called them, called the tow truck. Apparently I don't use my ac enough (ever lol).....it was a little warm for me down there
I made that "fail" thing up on the spur of the moment......kinda proud of that one.
tm
PS...I have a feeling one nice warm summer day their service manager is going to show up to open up and there is gonna be a nice big ol' steamer laying in front of the door to greet him.

ICP oil sensor.
hi, yes there's a oil pressure sensor that will shut down the injectors. Could be warr. Oil sender is under turbo. Ford TECH know how to change quickly. the average back yard guy would that hours to replace. Make sure if they change it they zero the sensor. SEND A update when you can. In stony plain.

Yes they do but roadside assistance is only for 5 years or 100,000. I was 150kms into the bush at the rig... HUGE bill. Fort Ford in Fort St John can't(won't) look at it until next friday. Flights are booked. I am going home one way or another.

Yes drained it. Checked the fuel filter up above the engine. Tried to reboot the truck but disconnecting the batteries. Nothing.

It was the EGR valve. It's covered under warranty. Flying back up to FSJ in the morning to get it....

How long was your engine light one before it finally wouldnt start lol,, thats why the fords have head gasket troubles, its the egr valve that causes it. They have coolant flowing through them and the valve gets stuck them opens then gets stuck causing the antifreeze presure to snap up and down taking out the head gaskets.Chances are your egr cooler will be pooched too
