Looking for a truck camper
Rare as hens teeth it appears, needs to fit in a 6 1/2 for box but the tailgate doesn’t need to be up. Max 8’ I guess. I’ve got about 3K (ya I’m cheap),
Looking for a full bed over the cab and it doesn’t need a toilet. If you have a buddy looking to sell one pm me for a phone number.

Small camper
I looked for a couple years for a camperette ( no overhang for the bed) before getting lucky and finding a mint one just a couple blocks from my house! It seems like the smaller the camper, the harder they are to find? There always seemed to be more in British Columbia, if that’s an option for you?

I know how you feel. I have been looking for a smaller tent trailer in good shape and although lots posted it is a real chore to find what you want. Not many posted locally for me.

Are you willing to travel to get it. My brother in 108 mile has one that fits in his Ram 1500 short box, pretty much exactly what you are looking for, in terms of build, budget etc. If you are willing to travel I can check with him for interest in selling and details re make year etc.

No sweat. I guess he did put it up for sale a week ago and it went the first day for a 1100 over ask, he had 4 guys bidding on it. I guess Covid crazy isn't over yet, though I think the price played a big role.

I’m looking for a good used Tacoma and it’s still Covid crazy pricing going on. 2008 models with 200,000kms and rusted out frames for 20k crazy…

You need to make sure that the C of G of the camper when installed is over the axle +/-a few and it does not exceed the Axle weight rating.

A good reminder. I met a guy at a gas station, he’d just bought a beautiful new camper from a dealership and it was too heavy and too far back. He could barely drive the truck. He was pi$$ed. And he should have been too, the dealership totally sold him the wrong set up for his truck.

my thoughts are it is never to far to travel if it is the right camper for the purpose or wishes
I have overpaid a bunch of times but it does not compare to the overall value of the smiles I have for making the right and perfect choice for things
good on,ya for, putting, this item forth for people to,choose
not being overly critical of the op buyer guy just my thoughts on purchasing travel trailers
thanks Dean someone gets their great camper choice

Sorry for hi jacking , but how do four guys bid on something so you get more ?
If you are asking let say $5000. does it not work that the first guy at the door with $5000. gets the camper !

In Mark's case, first guy emailed him bid 400 under ask. By the time he saw it there was another guy that said he would take it for sure at full ask, hold it till he gets there. Mark told first guy, first guy bids 300 over ask, by this time two others have emailed through Kijiji. Don't know exact sequence after that but no one had yet showed up to even look at it. He had posted a dozen good quality pictures however. Long and short, got to 1100 over a 2500 start price. Mark told high bidder, send EMT for full price, non-refundable, and I will hold it, otherwise first guy that shows up with $3,600 in hand gets it. Guy was 2 hours away, EMTed him the money over two days, EMT has a 2,500 per day limit, showed up three or four days later to pick it up.
Brother was amazed anyone would send a complete stranger $3,600 bucks, and also buy sight unseen. Mind you, guys were buying 750,000 to 2 million dollar houses sight unseen with no conditions.

Right, when selling I let the buyers know that there are no holds without at least a certain amount of a down payment. With EMT it works well.
Up until that point, it goes to the first person with enough cash in hand...

dunno if still looking, my brother just went on the road trip with the in-box trailer. said going to put it up for sale when back. it's an older one, pretty sure asking price will be under 5k.
let me know if any interest, i'll try to get you two talking.

My hunting partner has one like these, and it's excellent.
We don't need a built-in bathroom, or even running water, so we gained more storage room by removing the fresh water tank.
Definitely very comfortable for two people, even in the winter. Maybe three but then it gets complicated when there's wet boots and winter clothes cluttering the limited space.

It’s says it only weighs 1168 pounds. With a 6.5’ box I think you’d be fine. Maybe put 4 2x10 8’ underneath it side by side for a bit extra support.
