Default Radio Station Closures - Poll

With all the layoffs, closures, and negative press surrounding radio stations I'm curious how dire the listenership is out there?

How many of you listen to radio of any sort in the car?

Is it the programming/music that has driven you away or is it radio and you just prefer streaming or other options?

Haven't turned the radio on since they moved Oiler's Now from the noon spot.

I listen to AM, FM and Satellite. Depending on the mood, I can switch it up 3 times in 5 minutes and often do.

Do miss the TSN 1260 and Oilers Now at noon. Always have the radio on at work mostly for background noise.

FM in my work truck. Drowns out the rattle. Podcasts sometimes. Spotify or FM in my personal.

I listen to satellite or own tunes. Cannot stand hosts talking all the time thinking they are funny or people calling in with boring, obnoxious stories.

For years I listened to am but they don't really have good radio shows anymore. Remember Gordon Liddy, David Rutherford, Michael Reagan, Late night with Art Bell, Rush Limbaugh ,Oliver North ,etc.
Now ive recently discovered 70s ,80s music on FM 103 in Calgary.

Spotify playlist and podcasts. I haven't listened to the radio in years, as I have zero tolerance for the commercials.

Seldom listen to radio, many yrs ago, I got fed up with the types of ads they were broadcasting. I might listen to it once/twice a year on a trip somewhere, to maybe hear local news in an area I'm travelling thru.

I haven't listened to the radio in probably 10 years or more. Radio can die off for all I care, I have no use for it.

I have Spotify and I listen to music and podcats. I get what I want, when I want, commercial free.

Mostly FM, but when I’m in the truck by myself it’s QR 77.
I do have Spotify but I only use it in the gym, for the rest I’m still old school I guess need to listen to the news and ads I guess and same goes for TV but I will wien myself off of that this summer when my Optik contract is up.

I listen to Ched when I am in the car for road trips etc. Classic rock all other times on the FM side. Still play CD's lol.

When the new cell comes, I will have to look into some satellite talk show/podcasts to stream so I don't have to listen to country stations .

More importantly… for those who listen to any radio… when was the last time you purchased something they advertized?

Thumbs down

I quit listening to radio years ago when they started adding random electronic bells, beeps, bongs, and police sirens to the ads they broadcast. Got fed up with trying to figure out if it was something important that needed my attention, or just their stupid ad noises.
At the time, I made note of the most obnoxious ads in order to specifically boycott their products.
Haven't missed them so far, won't miss them if they are gone completely.

Use to listen to talk radio QR770 but they have gone woke, so I only listen maybe a 1/2 hour a day when I am bored waiting for my runs to start.
When I was on the highway and in the patch, I use to listen 24/7 but things spiraled down the drain quite fast after Chorus took them over and now CTV? I stopped listening especially after the (afternoon) producer the other day was saying how his "white male privilege" kept him from being attacked on the C Train. I pretty much shut that radio station off permanently.

I listen to radio in the vehicle and in the garage. In the house, it's streamed or from my own music.

I like the sports talk on AM and some of the talk radio that is now carried on FM. There's a few FM music stations that I listen to as well.
