Carson/Pegasus
Thinking of heading up to Carson tomorrow, or some day during this week. Anyone been, or wanting to go?

Probably still frozen over, but not frozen enough to ice fish it........
My guess at least.

I’m sitting on Spring Lake right now with 32” of solid ice. Carson should be in even better condition given the weather they have had this past week. My only concern may be some floodwater.
Heading up tomorrow morning at 5am, will report back. Spring Lake has been incredibly slow.

I was at Carson a week ago. Lots of snow still and 36" of ice. Likely very wet now as well. Best option would be to walk out. Fishing was fair

Thanks Big Dog Al! I’ve still got the extension on the auger, ready for anything. I’m betting it going to be real wet up there tomorrow, but we’re hopin’ for a few hours of good fishing!

I was at Carson a week ago just checking it out, never fished. Unless much has changed, DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE ON THE LAKE!!
There was a fellow with the same truck as mine, 4x4 stuck at the bottom of the boat launch. The snow where he was was about 1 1/2 feet deep. I heard latter, he had to wait a considerable time for a tow truck to haul him out.
I asked a few people who were fishing how they were doing and was told that out of the 6 people on the lake, only 2 6 inch fish were caught in 4 hours of fishing.

If anyone is itching to ice fish... Carson will be good to go for a week or more yet. 32-36” of ice, 8-12” of snow on top, and floodwater up to 6” depending where you go. I’ll be back once or twice this week.
Fishing Has been slow for me, couple guys limited out with nice trout. Few suckers being caught as well.
I would advise walking on due to the snow, floodwater, and spring ice conditions.

Try fishing near the peninsula point on either side. This time of the year I've found the bigger ones there. They like the flowing water that goes between the two parts of the lake. I've fished there and did well on 15-17" trout lots filled with eggs.

Heading up to Carson Saturday. Did the peninsula work for you?

This coming Saturday? May 28th? Might be getting difficult to access at that time. I was up on Sunday and it was still 100%, with 32" of solid ice, minimal flood water, but with temps getting into the mid 20*C's this week, could change the ice around shore in a hurry! I may head up tomorrow (depends on work), and will report back if I do.
Because it was a hurricane out there on Sunday, we actually fished straight out from the campground. Caught a few decent ones and had a couple for breakfast yesterday.
