Default Do over’s

If you could go back in time and do anything over what would it be? For me it would be to teach myself better financial responsibilities.

Stay in the army and make more of an effort to get into army aviation.

If I could do college over again I would.
Dropped out of business at Mount Royal, wish I would have figured out a way to make it work. Maybe a change in program or even have taken a trade.

Thumbs down

I would have kicked out 2 before I moved them in. What a massive heartbreaking horrible lesson those 2 taught me in how evil someone can be.

I should have kept the 87 ounces of gold I got back in the 80's. Gold was around 200 an ounce and I thought I did good. The 17K I got back then would have been 117K now.

Also wish that I would have bought that 27 acres of lakefront on pigeon lake for the 75K asking price back in '85.

And of course, I wish I hadn't have fallen for the tricks of a couple of bad women. Even though some people say there are some good women around now I don't trust any of them.

Nothing.
Maybe be a better public speaker or presenter, but that’s still possible.
Everything else is easy street, family, career, property, retirement nest egg.
Just stay the course.
People wishing for too much aren’t happy with the present.

I have two wonderful daughters so if I could actually do anything over that would have benefited me personally, my destiny would have changed and they wouldn't be here- so I wouldn't change a thing.

BUT..... If I could still have them, AND have a do-over, I would have got a trade under my belt that allowed me to always be in demand and have a good full time job; along with as many side jobs as I wanted on weekends/evenings for cash. I would have gone with auto mechanics. To be honest, another career that I would have enjoyed (that would probably be a shock to most who know me) would be Nursing. The pay/benefits are very good, always in demand, recession proof, and actually feel as though I "make a difference" in people's
lives.

X2 If I only knew then, what I know now about finances, and we were very good about debt, saving, not so much. I think financial unpreparedness is a huge failing for our school systems. Grade twelve financial courses ought to be mandatory. I try and drum it into our kids, but it's starting to feel old for all of us, I don't know how much gets through.

I've made my share of mistakes and then some but looking back I don't think I would change much because of where that road lead me. Now I have an amazing family and a good career

I should have stayed with fishing pheasant-tail nymphs last fall, instead of switching over to chironomids. Other than that, not really.

I've made some bad decisions, but I don't regret them - they, along with my good decisions, brought me to where I am today - and that's a pretty good place!

Regarding all the people regretting their lack what we used to call 'secondary education', I don't regret going out into the big wide world right after grade 12 for one minute. For me, that was one of my best decisions!

Every lotto ticket I've bought I'd like to re do. This time I'd pick a winner but other then that I've lead a interesting fun life. Don't think I'd change a minute of it.

This is gonna sound strange

As a young teen, I watched Kiddies on Kamera. Remember that show on CFRN?

Anyhow one day they had these 3 Highland Dancers on. The one girl had long brown hair, super long legs. An absolute Teen “10” l had NEVER seen a girl like that in my life. Wow

I thought to myself I wished I lived in Edmonton. ....Id find that chick

About 9 years later, I met a girl in Edmonton. Tall long legged brunette. Scottish gal......who one day showed me this poor quality tape of her dance routine that she performed on Kiddies on Kamera

We have been living like teenagers together for almost 30 years

My do over? I should have found her sooner.....

Longest stalk ever! Lol

Actually it was a total fluke

She showed up at my graduation. She was supposed to be matched with a guy in my class. I saw her walking across the floor and that was it.

My mom saw it all. She looked at me, saw the look I had on my face, I winked at mom and said “see ya much later”, and she thought “that boy is goooone”!

The one regret I have is not completing my degree. Got married way to early instead. I suspect if I had completed, my career paths would have been different. Still, I've led a good life and my kids are doing well.
