Default Well that's all folks!

I pulled the last few snares I had this evening. It was a good season and I learned a lot and had some fun as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help! I fell short of my season goal of 100 coyotes but did manage to get 95. It was a pretty lofty goal for my first full season so I am quite happy with what I caught.

Good luck to all the trappers who will be going after muskrats and beaver this spring! I'm getting pretty busy again so I'm not sure I will be doing much more trapping this spring.

Thanks guys! Nube you're right, I worked my butt off most of the winter on those coyotes.

I'm already planning next year though.

Well looks like you had a good year. Congrats. Good numbers too. I'm at 48 couple shot and 3 baits. I'll see if I can keep up with you and nube and the other excellent snaremen on here. Good work.

I'll take the compliment Bill but I'm certainly not in the excellent snareman category. One year maybe, but not yet. I just worked hard.

Great job and congrats. It takes a lot of work to be that successful, but it's very satisfying when it all comes together. Good job!

Here's how I like to figger some numbers out
5 coyotes will easily take a deer a week. 95 dead coyotes saves 19 deer a week.
That's 988 deer in a year!
Come next fall you'll see a big difference in the amount of fawn survival

I hope so. They need all the help they can get in my area. It will be years before it gets back to where it used to be though. (If ever)

Thanks guys! Now the debate is where to set the goal next year? I'd like to double it but I'm not sure I could get that done.

Cool

Oh yeah, first full season under your belt. I'm sure you can hit 200 yotes.

Good stuff TFNG. Think big, set high goals. A good coyote number, good quality dogs, along with some good fur handling skills (top lot to show for it). I would same that is an excellent season.
