Default golden ranches

Hi All,
I have read lots of posts on this forum from people hunting small game on this property, so are we allowed to discharge a firearm in Golden Ranches, I thought it's in 248.

Thanks
Rosh

The 248 bow zone only applies to big game. Varmints and small game can be shot with rifles and shotguns.

Not sure about Golden Ranch. Never heard of it.

Firearms are a big no no at Golden Ranches. There are signs posted at the fence line in numerous places.

If you are referring to golden ranches conservation site you are 100% allowed to discharge a firearm there, it says so right on the website.

where does it say that on their website? I am sorry I could not find any statement allowing the use of a firearm. I just want to use a 12ga and high-power air rifle to shoot small game or birds.

Top left hand corner, little graphic of the guy shooting a firearm.

It's a bit odd, as it also states "Do not target practice or sight in firearms on conservation sites.". Seems like discharging a firearm for other purposes is okay....

That’s because this place was turned into a real war zone with kids(young adults behaving stupid) shooting all they have there. You can probably collect a few thousand rounds of 7.62x39 along…. So about 5 years ago they posted that target shooting is not allowed.

Ya see that's why on the bottom light blue paragraph it says to...

Consult the Latest edition of the Hunting and Sportfishing regulations.

That's where you will find the regulations for the whole area called Strathcona County in which Golden Ranches happens to be.

There are Special rules and or restrictions relating to firearm use/discharge in effect for portions of the County of Strathcona.

https://www.strathcona.ca/agricultur...thcona-county/

You will also see there is a PDF file covering the special Control area.
