Default Silly Question...I think I know the answer

Headed to the US for a couple days, bass pro has a trigger I want to buy. Is that something I can purchase down there and carry across the border?

Are you talking about an archery release (trigger)?

No a firearm trigger, that’s what I figured Chuck . With the exchange it would only save me $40ish, I’ll buy it in Canada.

Canada Customs won't care. The US authorities may disagree.

No, You will have troubles at the border if they catch you with it. It's dumb I know. I can't even get a tiny little trigger spring shipped here. It's a damn spring, smaller than the ones in a ball point pen! lol

i've ordered a spring for my trigger recently. didnt have a problem. I wouldn't hesitate much to throw the trigger in my luggage. But that's me. Arent we supposed to be getting rid of a bunch of restrictions? ITAR? I'd heard it was the opposite. the American side doesnt care, but our guys will have a fit if they see anything that isnt meant to soothe a baby.

American side is the only side that really cares due to ITAR in place. You can't export parts without a permit. I wouldn't risk it for saving $40. If you are caught you could be barred from ever entering the US again and possible jail time.

Canada side doesn't care as long as its not a prohibited device.
