Default #8-40 Screws

Long story short I lost the two little screws I need for attaching the scope mount on my Henry Golden Boy. There were two of them I believe, and the screws are #8-40. Unsure as to the length of them. Now that I'm finished weeping, does anyone know where to pick up a couple of them in the Edmonton area?

Try some hobby shops. I'd be very surprised if your local hardware store doesn't have them though.

Oh, so they're not special gunsmithing screws? I'll have a look at home hardware then, thank you very much!

wholesale sports sells a screw kit that has all different sizes of screws for gun work. Around $50. They MIGHT have smaller screw sets...can't remember. Not too handy if you don't want to have a bunch of extra's on hand. You could try western gun parts in the west end or Edmonton Nut and Bolt might have something that small.

First choice. If they sell scopes and mount them, they'll have them .

Get the proper screws for mounting scopes' as they must be strong enough, and not twist off in your rifle.

P&D could probably help you out. Or try Edmonton Nut and Bolt but they'd probably be special order.

They're a special screw, no room for duct tape machinists here.

You mean a self tapping wood screw that's "close" might not work? Even if you built it up with a couple washers?
