Default Guided Elk Hunt Recommendation

My son graduated this year and I would like to get him a guided elk hunt. He is an experienced hunter, fit and I'd be joining him.

We live in the kootenies and it might be nice to see some different terrain.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thx

A friend had a great elk hunt in New Mexico. Looked like some pretty grueling hills and terrain though.

Also check out Nevada, some real stompers coming from there and I believe the draw is coming up soon. In Nevada you can put in with a guide for the guide draw which ups your draw odds substantially or you can purchase a landowner tag. Utah and Colorado use to be a great place, but are going down hill quick, that being said, its still better than Alberta. Arizona is hands down the number 1 place for big bulls, BUT its an extremely low chance of a non-resident drawing a tag. One of my friends is an outfitter in Wyoming if that interests you, however Wyoming doesn't have the quality bulls the other places (including new mexico) have.

Cheap Elk hunts in Alberta but mostly you will get rag horn bulls. We has mostly a 3 point or better season so “trophy” quality is really scarce. I would look to the states of a chance at a respectable elk. No Idea on prices, but a quick google will give you that.
