Strangely enough I have had ruptured primers with factory Federal ammunition in my 22-250 but no issues with handloaded ammunition that is moving 64gr Bergers at 3500fps. Just had a quick look, and I have a little over 13,000 WLR primers remaining. Will update if I ever have one fail.

I have even had issues with Winchester factory ammo (bought for break in, intended to reload the cases after first firing). I had a box of 243 in which 3 wouldn’t even chamber. The necks and shoulders were misshapen badly. Same box had 2 primers suffer gas leaks around the primers, a small amount but noticeable upon inspection. To Winchester’s credit they did refund me for the box, but I haven’t bought Winchester ammo since.

The link below includes a list of Winchester primer lot numbers that have produced issues with pinholes.

Winchester brass is horrendous.
