Default Shooting with osteoarthritis

Well, I have had hand issues for years now. Surgery solved the trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome, and have been relatively pain free for the last few years other than some permanent nerve damage..lately my hands have been hurting again and xrays show I have osteoarthritis in my knuckles. Thumbs are the worst with no cartilage left and nerve impingement already. Both hands are affected. I just turned 40. Just wondering if anyone else is battling the same issues and how does it effect your shooting? What should I be preparing myself for? I am a carpenter by trade and am likely forced into looking at something else. Other than living on an acreage and all the chores that come with that. Shooting and hunting are my only other hobbies and would hate to have to give them up.
