I see another lockout coming soon.....

"The Coyotes signed Keller on Wednesday to an eight-year contract extension with an average annual salary of $7.15 million."

I like Keller, but $7.15M/season?!? The guy played 82 games last year and put up 47 pts and was -21. I know it isn't always about points, but it's a big factor for a guy getting $7.15M playing on the first line.

Thoughts of Tkachuck signing in the sevens is long gone and even in the eights is fading....

Calgary Flames signed forwards Devante Smith-Pelly, Tobias Rieder, and Zac Rinaldo to PTOs.

Sidenote, anyone see Neal making is big, slow crossovers in Oilers camp the otherday? He's midseason form already.

Smith-Pelly might be good replacement for Hathaway

I wonder which player has actually made a roster off a PTO ? Flames wasting ice-time the Dube's etc could be using ?

Quite a few do, well, relative anyways. Four players have been signed off a PTO on the Flames alone since 2014. Those being Raphael Diaz, Nicklas Grossmann, Tanner Glass, and he wasn't on a PTO with the Flames, but he was signed off a PTO, Kris Versteeg.

I think Frolik is leaving and getting replaced with a much cheaper option. I could see something along the lines of:

Johnny-Monahan-Lindholm
Chucky-Backlund-Bennet
Mangiapane-Ryan-Dube/Czarnik
Lucic-Jankowski-Smith-Pelly

The problem with that line up is there only 2 maybe 3 guys that can kill penalties. Also they actually need to sign Flapchuk and it ain't going to be cheap. The Keller's signing is not going to set the market. I think Flapchuk is below Marner but ahead of Boeser. In the end I think he get a 5 to 6 year deal for 8.5 to 9.

Sure puts Leons contract in a different light doesn't it? Pretty hilarious actually.

Get out, I thought the story of the Oiler players all have to carry pylons around with them, to remind them of who they really are was just a joke.
Nice of Looch to sign his and give it to a kid, since he won't be needing it anymore.

Oh no.... that’s the pylon that undressed ole Looch. I recognize it. Zoom in on his face. It tells all.

A lot of it due to his Scheuermann's disease I think. I've got a lot of respect for the guy having an NHL career in spite of it.

Pretty deceptive 6'3, 230 either way.

Pretty good sporting Saturday, Andreescu wins, Riders lose, Stamps win, Flames rookies shut out the Oiler's rookies, and Ferrari is on pole.

Ya it will be streamed live on YouTube tonight. Just search calgary flames, i think game time is 7. If you have a smart tv use the YouTube app on your phone and link your phone to your tv, easiest way I've found.

Not sure, he hasn't been around, as Edmonton wanted him to stay in town till training camp so he could teach Neal how to skate.

Really. That’s nice. People in Edmonton are great. You should send Johnny Hockey up and McDavid can teach him how to play Hockey.

So we bought out Michael Stone beginning of August and today announce we resigned him for 1 year @ $700k. niiiiiiice. All within the CBA rules as this was not a compliance buyout.

$1.166 mil in buyout + .7 in salary = $1.866 mil cap hit this season and $1.166 mil next season

saves $1.7m in actual money, sweet!

Seen this today, Treliving works some crazy deals. Let's hope he pulls a good one off when signing Chucky.
Would be nice to have him for start of season, but not sure if that's going to happen.
If Tkachuk is holding out for Marner, and hearing the $$ he is talking. Mathew shouldn't bother as he won't be getting that kind of $$. Sounds like he declined an offer of $11Mill? Ha sorry sit out the whole season if that's what your thinking.

I'd rather him sit out than sign for that money, or trader for and sign Point or Marner for $12M. St. Louis has no player signed for more than $7.5M/season but 8 guys at $5M or more.
