Default Shunda creek

Kids are dragging me up to upper shunda creek campgrounds in a few weeks .
I went threw the regs a few times and can not find anything on shunda creek .
Are there any fish in there and can one even keep any ?
Not sure what I will be doing there for a week while my boat is at home ?
Any good fishing around there ?

My kid was up there with some friends a few weeks ago. They didn't see much in the creek but fished the lake and there were a few stocker rainbows - pretty shallow from shore - so they had to bomb it way out there to get anything to bite.

Shunda is slow but you can catch a few real small guys. Orange stimulator works good. Don’t have the regs in front of me but I’m sure the limit is 2 no bull trout till Aug 31
I heard the ponds are good right now. I would phone Rocky Mountain house f& w for more info. Nordegg office doesn’t answer the phone for some reason.

it is considered a trib of the N Sask, so the N Sask regs apply to Shunda Creek.

lots of fantastic fishing in that area. both up and down Hwy 11 and Forestry Trunk RD.

good luck
Mike

People probably do but I’m sure it’s no bait on all streams. I just fly rod it.

Sheesh.....

You could thumb through your hard copy of the regulations
If not....there is a link at the top of this forum for the 2020 fishing regs....

The answer is CLEAR.

I get that people want OP to figure it out and bust on his spelling but wouldn't answering the question be just as easy?

The answer is "NO," you cannot use maggots in Shunda Creek.

How did I figure this out:

Shunda Creek is located in ES-2

There are no specific regulations for it (not listed)

Therefore it's a tributary, to the NSR specifically

Read NSR regs

You can use maggots on the MAINSTEM of the NSR only, from Bighorn Dam (Abraham Lake) to Hwy 22 from Aug 16 - Oct 31

"TRIBUTARIES" of NSR have a "BAIT BAN" for the entirety of fishing season.

So maggots can only be used on the mainstream of NSR (as per above) and not on any of its tributaries.

Shunda Creek eh ? About the biggest Grizzly track I've ever seen, just north of the highway.

There is probably 20 spots you can fish shunda. From the Harlech campground to the forestry trunk road turnoff. You can see the creek on your left as you approach Nordegg going west. Also see some of it on the right. Upper shunda just go to the shunda campground. North turn at Nordegg.

They sure are!! That poor creek sees a ton of fishing pressure and has a VERY healthy otter population. The otters don’t practice catch and release.
