Default MacKinnon Flats

Just wondering I haven't been to there in years. I have a bad back and can't walk very far. Can you drive up to the river with truck from the parking lot? I've got a young pup I would like to try to out in the river with a check cord ?

Was just there. The parking lot is pretty close to the river and it’s an easy walk along the shore. Man was it busy! Lots of families picnicking and walking around. Saw a sign that they’re closing it the end of August. Something about building a new road.

You can drive right to the water's edge, into the river if you're launching. As mentioned they'll be closing the road for a while. Johnson's Island south of Carseland good access also.

Although you can drive close to, and even right up to the river.... Parking is not close, 50-100m walk.

Don't be like the rest of the idiots who disobey the rules/signs and park within spitting distance.

Even the river-boat fisherman park where they shouldn't. Real "stewards of the land"...
