Too bad Hawcs isn't an AH-64, no apprehension necessary.

Great system we have. Assaults a police officer and will probably be released.
Think he is going to his trial date??

With the way that our courts are leaning, he will likely get a stern lecture for a sentence. It's too bad that the officer didn't use his handgun to defend himself , when he was assaulted .

Default Too bad

Great thread.

Already there is a suggestion that the perp will not show for court and if he does will only get a stern lecture. Then there are the too bad that hawcs was not equipped to kill without arrest and the too bad the officer did not shoot the perp.

If the officer would have shot the perp I am sure that there would have been posts saying that the officer overreacted and is part of the continuing RCMP problem.

I am glad that this time they got their man.

Sleds are great getaway choices except they leave a follow me to here trail lol. Glad they caught him. Hope the courts nail him but I have my doubts.

Interesting that with the Po Po hot on his tail, that he could run off the road with the truck and then have time to start, untie, and unload the sled to make his get away.

"What we do know is he's 34 years old and from the Blackie area and is facing a total of 18 charges from Wednesdays incident."

That should get him 3 months for sure minus 3x time served awaiting trail

Could be the makings of a new sport in the next Winter Olympics, the 1000m catch-a-scumbag junkie thief. Kind of like a winter version of team roping.

People are frustrated; that after all of the time and money spent apprehending and trying criminals, and in this case an officer being assaulted, the criminal will likely be back committing crimes in short order.

"a merry chase" ??

A desperate criminal fleeing from justice with stolen property in a stolen vehicle after capital assault is a "a merry chase"?? Wow. Sounds like so much fun! Maybe we should go out and slap around a few cops to make everyone feel happy and gay. Then borrow the neighbor's car to burn doughnuts in downtown intersections during rush hour.

Good thing it wasn't a serious incident like bumping into a third-world fentanyl dealer on a busy sidewalk. Gonna have to transfer all those under-worked rural cops to reinforce the downtown Toronto anti-bumping and discrimination squads.

It just seems like we have a lot of thieves actually there aren't that many its just the same ones over and over thanks to the catch and release court system.
