Just wondering with the really thick ice out there what you guys are getting for battery life. When ice was 20-24 " i could get 40 holes for sure with lots life left, today only got about 17 holes with 35-37" of ice. Seam like this thick ice realy eats the battery life almost cuts it in half, is anyone else finding this too.

I get about a dozen holes in those conditions but I also have a 10" bit. Can charge my battery in my truck so no problem. Still never going back to gas auger

The arguments on gas vs battery on some of the FB pages I follow get downright nasty sometimes - I really can't believe how, um....passionate, some people feel, either for or against.

I use an ION-x exclusively for opening up the holes in our rental units ( 18 holes in all....) and that battery powered auger is AWESOME for that purpose, you cant ask for anything faster, quieter and no exhaust.

As for out on open ice, I've drilled about 20 holes on a fully charged battery and I didn't lose even one indicator light.
