Default Looking for an honest and reliable Calgary mechanic

I have some work that needs to be done on my car right now. I can provide all the parts but need someone to install them. There are quite a few mechanics advertising on kijiji but don't know who to trust.

Can anyone recommend someone? Thanks.

Default Honest Mechanic

I (as well as a number of people I work with) use Garland's (Edmonton Tr x 40Av area) whenever I need anything major. He once spent several hours trying to free a seized seal for me, even having to borrow a press from another shop. Still only charged the hour that the book indicated for the job.

Default repair company

You oughta check out the repair company I work for. They do incredible, affordable work on all auto, but they focus on trucks mainly. Give 'er a check

I think Santa Clause is a mechanic in the off season. Or maybe it was Bowzo the Clown. I forgot to ask which one it was when I had my car worked on last.

Why on earth look on kijiji?? Go to a shop. Let them buy the parts. Now you have warranty.

I do all my own, it's not that difficult, but tools can get pretty pricey, but you can save a ton of money doing your own repairs and maintenance, especially when it comes to trucks, a typical inframe (engine rebuild) will run between $35000 - $50000. But you can get IPD parts from union tractor for a cat engine for about $12000. And about 3 - 4 days labor and you've saved around $30000! Totally worth it IMO.
