Default Anyone here from Chauvin?

COMMUNITY TAKING ACTION
2018/3/19
Early Monday morning brought on a rash of break-ins throughout the Village of Chauvin. Because of the quick thinking of community members, the thieves were cornered and held until the RCMP arrived.

Everyone is very grateful to all those involved in the peaceful apprehension of the thieves.

*Upon advice of RCMP, we will not be posting pictures due to minors being involved.*

My parents are from a farm outside there. I will have to ask them to see if they know anything about it.

Yup. Got woken up around 8 by the doorbell. Said our garage bay door was open He told us that a bunch of places got broken into. Him and a crew got together and chased down them down. Cornered five of them and waited for the police to show up.

We took a look around and noticed the garage door opener in the snow. Found out the wife's car wasn't locked. Went into on Friday to grab something and forgot to lock it again. They opened her car, and then used the garage door opener to open the garage. Rifled through her car and took a bunch of change. GM and motorhome in the driveway were locked. Dug through the Ford in the garage but left the change in it. Didn't take a thing out of the garage. Brand new ION auger sitting there, laptop, sunglasses, tools.

Not the smartest criminals. I guess the spree started about 5:30 or 6am. In a town of farmers and oil patch workers there is lots of activity in the early morning. I guess that's why they got caught. Police said it was a lot of change, sunglasses, etc... that got stolen. Whatever was left in unlocked vehicles I guess.

Kind of funny, when we went downtown to talk to the police, one of the locals that caught them was driving an Alberta Rat Patrol truck. I guess they don't just hunt the 4 legged ones.

Was this Chauvin or Provost? Or was it Macklin?

My favorite type of thieves, not willfully destructive and generally just grab stuff lying around.
