Talked to a buddy of mine who's been out a couple of times this year on the southwest end of the lake I guess theyve been smashing perch in about 45 feet of water.

Default Ice Depth

Ice at Burnstick was about 16 inches last weekend. About 8 inches of snow on top as well, but there were lots of people with their vehicles on the ice.

We caught about 25 perch, with the biggest being maybe 9 inches. Size caught is a lot small on average than last year, but there are lots of perch in the lake. We were in about 25-30 feet of water.

Still hoping to find a walleye or pike hot area on that lake, not sure if there are any areas like that on the lake.

thanks for the info chuck, as for the pike or walley spot I can't help you out on that we have only caught one small pike out of that lake and that was on a perch rig.

I fish "The Stick" quite alot and we have better luck on larger perch (12-14") in shallower water. Try bigger bait for the fatties. We don't really target the pike/marble-eyes as much but pike always seem to show up where the perch are. Would be neat to meet someone from the board there sometime.
