Default Dog Training

My dogs arent trained and I want to train them but they are 3 and 5 years old.

One of them is a Jack Russel, he is three, and the other is a Lab + Husky + Red Heeler. He is kind of obstinate. My Jack Russel is the one I really want to train.

Any tips?

Well I have no tips, but watched mythbusters the other day and you can teach a old dog new tricks.

What is it you want to train them to do?

Default What do you want the dog to do?

Hi there!

I guess to answer more thoroughly I would need to know what you want your dog to do. My wife and I adopted a show bred Ebglish springer Spaniel about a year ago and he is 4. I have never hunted, but thought to myself that this is what he was bred for and I have always wanted to try it so I am trying it this year.

I joined a breed specific club and bought enough books to make my wife think I can read about 6 books a week!

Some of the training is going really well, but he is 4 and some of the things, like a hard flush, is hard to teach.

So my advice is figure out what you want them to do, and then look for people/books that know more about it than you!

Joe

Get them out to obediance classes. The socialization is good for them.
If they are not to be trusted around other dogs either seek out a good dog trainer that can help you out with your problem or get Cesar Millan's books.
His series the dog whisperer and his book are very well written and work.

Good luck with your dogs, let us know how their training comes along.
