Talking Another yote from off the deck X 3

Went to pour myself another cup of coffee at 8:30 this morning and lo and behold, when I looked out the window I see this fella come slinking in between the slough and my trout pond. Grabbed the 204 VLP and laid out on the deck using the bipod. Gave a couple of lip squeaks which got him to turn broadside and stop. At 105 yds away he didn't have a chance. The 35 gr berger being pushed with 26.8 gr of benchmark slammed into his chest. I watched the impact through the scope, 5 wild spins and it was over. This pack of seven dogs are now down to three. Fairly brave coming in at that time of the morning even though he was last years model. The upcoming new born fawns, ducks, and geese will be much happier.

Here was my view from the deck. Black arrow shows where he lays.

you crack me up! thats awesome, i shot one last weekend too, who cares what time of year....you can't get enough of them! love the pics and stories...my Dad does the same thing, he's done well this winter and scored another about 2 weeks ago after getting a double a couple weeks before that...he's in acreage country though and uses the hmr....i flipped a coin and ended up taking the .270 with me last weekend and winged mine at 160 yrds but managed to pick up my own rebound at 280....was pretty dang proud of myself

keep the kills/pics & stories coming!

Thanks for posting Gube. I've got an unexplainable urge to hunt coyotes regardless of the time of year as well. One time I was all dressed to go to a funeral of my friend's father and I shot one of those yotes from my deck. I went out into the pasture to get him while dressed in a suit and tie and gum boots. Well the ditch rider goes driving by and gives me one of those "silly bast_rd" head shakes.

If that slough was on my property I'd put up a semi-permanent duck blind complete with a heater and stove just like the Duck lease club guys in the states.

(Hey Stinky, you really are an evil coyote hunter..... take a look at the number of your last post.)
