Has anyone ever fishing Elk lake in southern alberta?

If you mean the one at Elkwater (i assume that based on the title) i stopped there once for about a half hour. It was a few years ago (at least 5) but i caught 3 hammerhandles in the time i was there. I remember it was snowing, it was windy, and it was really cold........... but it was fun. Not much information but it may be a start. "There was at least 3 fish in their 5 or so years ago" ha ha

Ive caught pike right in the boat yard. Casting from the lanch towards the boats with a rapala but once again that way 5 years ago.

Elkwater Lake has a fair number of pike but don't expect to catch anything big!!
One of our best pike fishing days was 100+ caught between 2 of us.
There is no size limit on pike at Elkwater cause there really are no big fish.
There is supposed to be some big perch in there but I've never had any luck getting them!
Personally I would not travel very far just to fish there but seeing as the Hat is only 1/2 hour away we do go there once in a while.
