Well that really sucks...to still lead Pacific and West....but a win would have been better.

And Kane not getting a Smirk Wipe.....

Damn

Sharks next two games, Van and Oilers. We better win in Van or we could find ourselves no longer in first

I would say None. He is on the injured reserve for the season if he takes another.

Effort was there. I appreciate that.

It just was not working tonight. It happens.

I have like 0 idea why they yanked Big Save Dave. Yes, he owned the give away but that was a sneaky shot he almost got.

Kane... WTH. Why is he so good against us? Willy and I watched the game together and he was once again constantly reminding me that I didn't want the Flames to pick him up when he was available. (I might have been wrong.. SHHHHH Don't tell him)

If you don’t know, Rittich is starting to live up to his farm team nick name. Big Cave Dave. And does Johnny have a bruised pinky again. He seemed to wince every time the puck touched his stick.

LOL ok. Anyways, listened to The Fan 960 for the Hitman (Wranglers) game and some of the interviews from back in the day. One story made me giggle about games at the Corrall, was before the game people hanging around the concourse smoking and drinking coffee. Back in the day people smoking wherever, seems so foreign now.
Then once the game started and the organ playing in the background during player introductions and stuf. Old school and I loved it, wish things like this happened more often.
Good job Hitman..

Question for the Flames fans

Looking at the top 6 in the west and with the recent moves by Nashville to obtain Bolye and McLeod, are the Flames built big enough? I know the Flames have size and toughness that they can dress, but they are not regulars in the lineup.

Do you need to trade for a Ferland type player or is Bennett enough?

Your question is a relatively hot topic on the radio.
It seems that most are deferring to Flames management to make the right call.
That being said, I agree with you. I believe FERKLAND could help us but I don't know if he can be that guy any more.

The other way of looking at things is to see if we can get a player to get James Neal going. Perhaps Ferland is that guy.

It would be nice to have a large skilled fast player....tough combination to get. I doubt Ferland will happen, or if he can be that guy. Bennett is tough and plays above his weight class but I don't think we want him being the guy to answer the bell. Maybe we could trade Ryan for Lucic...? All kidding aside, it would be good to fill that slot, not sure who with though, or who is available even. Having Prout and Peluso available is fine, but there is a skill cost to having them in the lineup. Although Prout actually has been playing pretty decent the last couple games. I'm rambling, trying to avoid going to work at -40...

We do not need a Lucic on the team. The game has. Hanged, speedy guys win over big thugs.

No offence. I think flames are a great regular season team. I do. I think your gonna be banged around and beat on during the playoffs. Might get by a round or even 2, but we all know playoff hockey is gruelling and I think our (yes I said our) boys are gonna be a little beat up and wore down should they win a couple rounds. I’d like to see a couple more bigger guys with grit that can go the distance. Couple proven guys. Might even win the cup then. Very good chance.

I’m mainly an Oiler fan. Therefore I haven’t really looked for playoff prospects.....

If we're fast enough, they won't be able to hit us.
I think Stone is a excellent combination of skill and speed, but he is going to be expensive. I'm guessing a 1st and Dube, or some such.

Don’t think we will be buying a rental and Stone will cost more then that urghh. Would luv it but ain’t going to happen. Would like to pick up a 3c and move janko to 4th line. Scheme would be perfect but St. Louis has all of a sudden woke up and looking to make play offs. We need more then 1.5 lines contributing. 1st line gets shut down and we’re a different team. Tre will do something. Have no problem spending a late round first and a baby flame, heck willing to give up janko or Bennett for the right piece but don’t see that by trade deadline deal

I've said the same thing on here more than once. As you say, a couple of the right guys could make all the difference in the playoffs.
Or they could go all the way as is. Do think they need some playoff toughness though

I would agree a big guy with some skill would be a huge help. As is present line up, I'm not sure we got what it takes to go round after round in playoffs. I do believe Treveling will do what is needed to take us farther.
Will be interesting to see what moves they make.
Size and man I would like to see a reliable Goalie but got to go with it.
First thing first take out the Canucks.
Go Flames Go!!!

As Rig said , first you have to beat the Nucks.

Personally, I don't see us (currently) having the fortitude to make it through 4 playoff series, especially with our A players. I simply can't see Johnny getting through unscathed...as the playoffs near, look for harder slashes to his wrists...I really wish he would consider different gloves.
I'd love to be proved wrong.
