So I gave a city slicker permission to hunt a 1/4 this year after he agreed to the rules. 4 days later I have a set of red and blues in my yard. Seems said hunter put bait out and the officer wanted to know if I knew. The original rules were no Fn trail cams but the guy didn't like rules. As a landowner I don't require the hassle of dealing with CO's just so slickers can have a place to hunt.

It does not matter because for the most part if you weren't granted a permission, most likely you would not get it if you dressed differently either.

Only if you’re hat is on backwards and the ass of your pants are down around you’re knees. Always best to say “ey bye” right of the bat. Crew cab with all the seats full is the best as well.

This proves a point I was trying to make a couple days ago about trying to distinguish between an ethical hunter and a non ethical hunter when granting permission. You just won’t know until after you’ve given them a chance. Get burnt like this a few times and this is why some landowners give up granting permission.

Last months goose hunt in Saskatchewan had a 100% permission rate. In Alberta we are lucky if we can get 10%. We use the same approach, but the attitudes of owners are decidedly different.

We had some great hunts because the landowners allowed us to hunt n their property. I encountered only one Alberta landowner that did not allow access for hunting.

I would suspect that it depends on the area. I'm grateful for the access I do get, but I imagine landowners near Calgary or Edmonton in particular get absolutely bombarded with requests. It's got to be a hassle that owners in less populated places don't face quite as much.
