Default Hogg Father vs Fast Eddie XL For Recurve Hunting

Looking at buying a Spot Hogg for my recurve. I had a Hogg Father on my compound but sold it last year. I haven't handled the Fast Eddie XL and not sure if this would be a better choice. The Tommey looks nice because of its compact size. I guess another option would be a Sure-Loc. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Have you looked at an ez-v site? You can use them as a rangefinder or use the dots, I think on a recurve that kind of simplicity and fast sight acquisition might work well. I’ve played around with a home made version just to get the feel of it before buying one and it’s got potential.

I think one of the downsides of a sight like you’re thinking of (I’ve got one in my compound) is the length of time it takes to settle in, that’s more difficult with no let off.

I don’t understand why you would want to spend that kind of money on a site for a recurve? I’ve got a hogg father on one of my compounds but I’ve never had a site on my recurves or longbows. How far out are you shooting with that thing?

I suppose if I was going to use one of those sites for a recurve it would be a fast Eddie for the weight savings.

Looking at eyeball shots in relatively high grass out to 20 yards. Have a prescription lens for my scope which I kept when I sold the Father. My other option was the Tommy which from what I can see is a short Father.
