Cool

Hopper or a prince nymph would be a good start keep your leader quite short 4'ish or less. some tight quarters on the dog . A good streamer with a few split shot can get some looks 6lb floro if you want a chance of keeping gear. Banzi

when you use bobber and fly, do you just cast it out and leave it for bobber-watching, or do you slowly reel back the line to make the fly look like it's moving?

With a bobber you are hoping for a dead drift to keep a dry natural and a nymph deep. drag will pull a nymph shallow and a dry under. On occasion drag at a lightly looking spot and it can bring a strike . It is rare that drag works but you just never know.

Here's a video i just made about fishing a fly under a float on a spinning real. I use bead head nymphs which I think work well. I usually cast it out and slow retrieve it for best results.
