This is a carp of the type that you would likely catch in Alberta. It is a Prussian carp. I happened to catch this one when I was targetting them a few weeks ago on a pickerel rig and a worm. I caught a perch and a carp on my line on the same cast. Note that the carp doesnt have a mouth on the bottom of his head like the suckers of Alberta. It is pretty distinctive.

To be honest AJ I think it a cross it had a lot of the features that a quill back does but it's quill was very short but it had a different mouth from others I have seen.

Pretty cool specimen. I see it has a large fin that runs behind the dorsal to the tail. Does anyone else notice a lot more redhorse caught later in the summer months?
