Athabasca Walleye

How far up the Athabasca can you catch Walleye, I have heard some say you will only get them from whitecourt and downstream, others have said closer to hinton and down stream??

Also what would a guy use to catch em off a spinner rod?

How far north? I get them up here in Ft.Mac out I the Athabasca regularly.

just to clarify, I am wondering how far towards the mountains (south, west) you can get walleye on the Athabasca.
