Default Barnes TSX-270 WTBY Mag

Anyone here shoot 130gr barnes bullets out of their 270 wtby mag?. I just starting reloading for it and getting the accuracy i desire is proving to be a challenge. My last recipe was 73 gr of RL22 (which is one grain over max). No pressure signs yet. Ive heard the TSX bullet likes to be pushed fast. What about seating depth?....right now i am seating them to the factory spec. Anyone out there have any experience with this bullet and caliber.

Mine shot just over a inch until I seated them down to 3.25" OAL. I am now using H4831 and Federal 215 primers and mine will shoot under 0.5" at 100 yards. I also tried RL22 but wasn't getting very good results.

Hey Drake,
Seating depth can be everything with the TSX. If you can get your hands on an OAL gauge it sure makes the process quicker and easier.
I start mine at .050" from the lands to the ogive of the bullet. Which should be the factory specs you are probably following. For some reason I almost always end up around .070" from the lands. Obviously that will vary from gun to gun. A little jump seems to be needed for these bullets to get the best accuracy.
I also find that they like to be on the hot side for velocity. All but 1 load has been that way for me so far.
Good luck.

X2 on more jump. I couldn't get them to shoot in my 270 WSM until I seated them real deep.
