rabbit hunting near edmonton beside ministik

I want to know if there is place where I can go rabbit hunting. I am looking for a shotgun zone. I have never been to Ministik wanted to know how is it for rabbit hunting. I know ministik is a rifle or archery zone only.

Look up conservation sites in Alberta. Tons of stuff within an hour.

Good luck with getting permission on land bordering Ministik. Most of it is small hobby farm type land with yuppy owners, especially on the North side (Strathcona county).

I can hunt at ministik bird sanctuary though, don't need any permission there right?

You can hunt rabbit in ministik, but only using a rifle. There's a big big sign there that says shotguns aren't allowed in the sanctuary, regardless of what you're hunting. Just thought I'd let you know beforehand, so you didn't get there and then find out.

I go to Ministik frequently, I haven't seen an abundance of rabbits, or seen many tracks, but best of luck - let me know how you get on.

I confirm this. I saw fair amount of moose, as expected, tons of coyote and the odd deer track. Think I saw some fox track as well. Not single rabbit track and I was looking in willow thickets. It's really odd because this is the only place where I've been out in the bush and not seen evidence of rabbits. Mind you, I didn't have my hot rabbit turd seeking missiles with me.

I'll probably be out on the weekend of the 4th, but if the weather lets up I will be looking to let the hounds loose. Otherwise I am looking for rabbit territory nearby, but probably not another Ministik adventure unless I take my skis and look for Coyotes. There's not much else to do there.

This sucks, I was hoping to get some wabbits this winter. Do you guys know any other place where I can go rabbit hunting.
