Thumbs up N.s.r report 03.04 2012

N.s.r is still slow, lots of pike though, no ice flows yet just some ice chunks and the river is up 12 inches from a few days ago.

Moved in to the new place in the 'hood now...life has calmed down a little but work is still crazy...maybe I'll find a few free hours to come down and hang out for a bit soon

thanks for the post and beautifull pics. iv'e been fishing the nsr a couple hours a day for the last couple weeks, mostly by the bev. bridge or south side of rundle ped. bridge. don't know many other areas where ice is gone. i like the bev bridge cause you get nice sunshine in afternoon and evening but it's been very slow. there are a million, trillion gazillian (you get the idea) black bugs along the shore. are these backswimmers or boatmen or what?

Yeah its crazy how many, pretty gross. They are waterboatmen.

Ive been out the last couple days as well. On Monday I tried in Rundall but didn't have a bite all day. Then yesterday I went out again and did much better, 4 eyes and 3 pike to shore and lost a few others.

Here's a few of my pics

Maybe it's just the lighting, but I think that's the palest pike I've ever seen!

I was there yesterday managed to get a couple of pike on the fly using a big black bunny leech with a very slow retrieval. It seems like they only bite from 7:00- 8:00 pm. It was really fun here's some pics.
