Got off nights and decided to head out to the Snake for some action!!
Warm and windy....hard to believe!
Fishing was very slow at our first stop so after a bit we packed up and left to go to where we were supposed to initially.
Fishing improved and ended up with around a dozen fish(1 being the smallest pike I've ever caught at about 6"s)
Ended up with 3 keepers between the two of us.
Ice is right at 12"s with most of ice being snow covered.
Alot slower than last years 1st action but still not too bad as we missed alot of fish!!
And I've got supper!!

Ah the elusive eye.....for that matter the elusive perch on the Snake!
A few years ago I had several honey holes for perch but something has changed and I can't seem to get onto them.
As far as the walleye go well I don't even remember the last eye I caught out of there, used to pick a few up in the boat but thru the ice has been pathetic.
With the car you are pretty limted as to where you can go with this snow.
I broke trail with the 4x4 to get over to the boat launch area and to get down to the narrows. The narrows is where there was some good action for pike but never caught any perch there.
Used to catch a few perch and eyes along the new dam(drive west of the park turn) out in some deeper water but god knows where they are at now.
Wish I could help ya more but you now know as much or more than me!

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Me I'm off to Calgary and along the way plan to hit a lake or two.
Just don't know if its going to be Newell,Mcgregor,CV....
