Default Advice for a first-time prairie elk hunt?

Hi folks,

I've got a cow elk tag in a prairie WMU for this fall, and this is my first time chasing after them. Most of the advice I've found online has been for mixed forest/parkland/benchland type elk hunts, so I'm not sure how applicable it will be for me.

Any advice on looking for them in a prairie landscape in Alberta? I suspect I'll have to do a lot of my searching on foot, so I'd love to narrow down the terrain I should focus on a little bit.

Thanks in advance, and good luck out there.
