Sylvan Lake pier
I have been going to Sylvan Lake for acupuncture appointments, and was wondering if there is a place I could do some fishing from shore hike I was there. Somewhere I heard the Sylvan Lake pier is a good spot. Can anyone tell me where this is?I know nothing about this Lake, and would appreciate a tip. Is it near the lighthouse in town? Thanks for your input, have a great weekend.

The pier is right at lakeshore drive and 50th street. I’ve had success with a jig and minnow slow retrieve. Later in the evening around nine till dark. Good luck!

I would recommend anyone considering fishin the pier read up on the reg's, because it's currently closed until July 01st.

Actually they got that wrong. Right from the guide
Portion of lake southwest of a line drawn from the northwestern
most tip of the landfill pier in Sylvan Lake Provincial Park located
at NW 33-38-1-W5M due northwest to the point on the shoreline
where the boundary between the town of Sylvan Lake and the
Summer Village of Norglenwold meet the lake at NE 32-38-1-W5,
including all tributary stream
It is just the west side of the pier that is closed.

Well, that explains why I've had to ask people to kindly stop fishing in the marked swimming area.

Not surprised a conflict between the Ab Fishing Guide and the Ab Reg's, following the Reg's this should help.
See page 2 .... Portion of lake from the northwestern most tip of the landfill pier in Sylvan Lake Provincial Park located at NW 33-38-1-W5M due northwest to the point on the shoreline where the boundary between the town of Sylvan Lake and the Summer Village of Norglenwold meet the lake at NE 32-38-1-W5, including all tributary streams

No cheap shots about my line/printing.

Went out this morning for a couple of hours with Scott, we were in his boat not far from Sunbreaker, had a lot of fun, lots of action both Whites & Walleyes, had a big Pike follow my 1/32" jig to the boat, she was big, real big, but kept going.
A few pics & tips for fishin at the pier.

No monsters, all about the same size, just under 17", the Mrs changed her plans for supper tonight.

If you have one, give this a try at the Sylvan Pier. Used a mini Mr. Twister with a 1/32 oz jig (no bait) worked today, casting it out & letting it float/drop down then jigging/swimming it back produced all my strikes. We were in 10-12 fow, sand gravel bottom with few weeds.

Pan fried Whites for her dinner tonight.
