Canadian Tire it is for today, $10c/l back on the Triangle card (because of you lol) is a tiny break but we will take it.

Jerry cans will stay empty until prices break.

Yikes, just filled up the suburban. Just shy of $200. Wow.

I have to say though, whenever gas is stupid priced, my business is stupid busy. So at a risk off hatred.... bring it on.

I paid $1.655 today for Dx Gold clear diesel, about half an hour ago. It makes me sick to my stomach that I wish I had brought a slip tank hearing of a .35c price jump coming

Filled the F150 yesterday in Airdrie and hit the $200.00 mark! My wife's little Escape took $97.00.

Filled up the boss's jeep about 10 minutes ago. $120. I looked under the jeep to see if it had been pouring onto the ground lol.

Nearly as bad as when we switched to metric under his old man. Fuel went from ~.80 cents a gallon to ~.36cents a liter ( .36$ X 4.5 liters to make a gallon = $1.62 per gallon wonder where the extra cash on that little scam went. Asking for a friend as trust funds don't come cheap.

My parents ran UFA here for a couple decades, I remember them selling diesel for 3c/L one summer. Farmers were filling everything they owned with diesel, even buying huge tanks.

Gas/diesel prices at $2.00/liter means we will be going into recession soon. Much bigger problem than the hit on our wallets. Hang on for the ride!

No matter what the price of fuel is, I’ve seen tons of rv’s, campers, big ass toyhaulers, boats, quads on the highway this weekend.the fuel cost doesn’t faze anyone with those toys.

Yup its amazing. Credit cards and lines of credit, bloody tank of fuel is as much as a monthly payment on a vehicle or trailer. It just isn't sustainable. All your money goes into smoke out the tailpipe. She gone.

I hauled my boat yesterday for a day of fishing. Be one of not many trips this summer with gas prices where they are.

I'm with you. We're planning to make about half as many trips to the lakes this year. Like the earlier post said, I think I've seen just about as many big RVs and boats on the road this weekend as usual. They may be planning to celebrate the long weekend and hold back to save money later. More uncertainty for outdoors industries and participants.

Yes people are upset about the price of fuel, and rightfully so, yet despite the high costs, people still smoke, drink , and gamble, so the high cost of fuel is not going to stop most people from driving, just like it doesn't stop them from smoking, drinking and gambling.

Meh. For the price of a can of snuff I can drive a pickup for an hour. Driving is far more expensive...

Then again, some travel is required as a part of life, tobacco, alcohol and gambling aren't at all necessary, yet people still spend large amounts of money on them.

guns, fishing, camping, archery, hobbies, none are essential but people spend large amounts on them too. Sometimes massive amounts

Agreed Ken. One shouldn't look down their nose at someone that enjoys drinking a beer or three, but spends 10's of thousands on hunting/shooting, or any other hobby

I've become far more efficient nowadays with my driving habits with the high fuel prices. When I run to town for a can of snuff, I grab a 24 of beer as well. 2 birds...one stone

The point being, that people will complain about prices, but as long as they can find a way to come up with the money, they won't let the cost stop them from enjoying the non essentials, let alone from buying essentials.

I won't swear by the accuracy of this, fake news and all, but if it's true, we're screwed.

There is a “conspiracy theory” that the government is intentionally raising the price of fuel and creating scarcity while overloading the power grid so we get used to outages and rationing. True or not I have no idea but the problem with a lot of these theories is that it’s hard to prove them completely false when one looks at them with critical thinking.

There is no doubt that our government and the government in the USA are sttacking the oil and gas industries at every possible opportunity, and they are pushing us towards using more electricity even though we don't have the grid capacity or the actual power production to accommodate this. But is their behavior an actual conspiracy, or just stupidity?
